emission of light at any wavelength
that is not blackbody radiation. Most
radio and millimeter wavelength
radiation is nonthermal. Types of
nonthermal emission include
bremsstrahlung radiation, molecular
line emission, atomic line emission,
and radiation produced by shocked
gas.
